In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month please join us for a cooking demonstration featuring local cook, author and storyteller Jonathan Bardzik.

– Acquire basic culinary skills
– Learn some Latin-inspired recipes
– Cultivate your inner chef

A self-trained chef, D.C. resident Jonathan Bardzik was raised to value fresh seasonal ingredients. Some come from local farmer’s markets, while others come directly from his mother’s garden.

Jonathan is passionate about exploring ingredients and techniques, as well as sharing those adventures with budding home chefs. In 2011, he began a popular series of cooking demonstrations held live at D.C.’s historic Eastern Market. After more than 100 live appearances at Eastern Market and venues around the country including the National Geographic museum, Bardzik has developed more than 500 recipes and filmed a video series.

His first book, Simple Summer: A Recipe for Cooking and Entertaining with Ease, was published in 2013. His second cookbook, Seasons of Taste will be released in mid-November 2015.

Jonathan’s popular website features more than 200 recipes and an assortment of videos. He maintains an active culinary presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Please RSVP for this free program on Eventbrite.com – ¡D.C. Cooks Ahorita!.

This workshop will take place in the Lower Level Meeting Room of the Shaw Library. All are welcome.
